Ramona and Beezus Movie Review – A Must See for ALL Job Seekers

I took my daughter to see the new movie Ramona and Beezus this weekend not expecting much more then bonding time and a few laughs.

The story is about 2 sisters and how they deal with Dad getting laid off.  It is very insightful into the children’s perspective, sometimes we never know what they are going through.

This movie is a MUST SEE if you have kids and are out of work like so many of us…you may even find the ending inspirational but thats just gravy.

I often say the worst part of job loss is the “Fear of Letting Your Family Down” and this movie has this same theme.

Share with us below what you feel is the worst emotional impact of job loss?

Enjoy the lesson and the laughs.

  1. Worst emotional impact: your confidence…you doubt if you are really good at anything anymore because of all the rejections or no calls about jobs in which you have applied…and it never stops,,,I have been unemployed for 18 mos.

  2. The “fear of letting my family down” has become a reality for me. When our first grandson was born we made a few sacrifices so my wife could quite her job and stay home to take care of him. We now have 4 grand kids she takes care of.
We have given up all we could to be able to continue taking care of them since I lost my job over a year ago, but we are now coming to the end of our Cobra health coverage and have no choice but to have her find a job just to get us insurance coverage.
Now my children are going suffer the financial hard ship of day care expenses, and out grand children are going from a close nurturing relationship with their grandmother, to just another kid in a daycare center.
Conceptually I understand I had no control over my circumstances, but emotionally I defiantly feel I have let my family down.
